| Who I am: |
My name is Jim Corder. I currently serve St. Gerard Church in Lansing as a Pastoral Associate. I am also a Permanent Deacon (since 2000). I am husband and father of two boys. My wife, Terri, and I met in our high school youth group and eventually were married a few years later in September of '86. We have two sons, Tim, a freshman in college and Jeff, a junior in High School. We also have a Black Labrador named Duchess. |
| What I've done: |
I earned a Master's Degree in Pastoral Ministry from Loyola University - New Orleans in 2000. I also received a B.A. in Management and Organizational Development - Spring Arbor University - Spring Arbor, MI. in 1994. In 1988, I completed the National Certificate in Youth Ministry Studies from the Center for Ministry Development. I began my journey in ministry as a volunteer for three years, followed by twelve years as a Coordinator of Youth Ministry in two different parishes. I then went to work as the Director of Youth Ministry for the Diocese of Lansing, Michigan in 1997. |
| What I'm doing: |
After serving as Diocesan Director of Youth Ministry for four years, I returned to parish youth
ministry in 2001. I moved to my current position at St. Gerard in the summer of 2007. Oh, and of course I write for
ParishWebmaster. |
| Other stuff: |
I love fantasy football, spending time with my family and eating great meals. I enjoy occasionally trying to beat either of my sons in Madden Play station, even though I usually
lose. But most of all I like to spend time with my family doing . . . you know . . . family
stuff! |
