| Who I am: |
My name is Brandon Jubar. I came
into this world in March of '67 (you do the math) and I am a husband and father of two incredible little boys. Kaleb was born in August of 1997, and he
is our little brainiac. Tyler was born two-and-a-half years later, in February of 2000. He
is definitely our rough-and-tumble guy! My beautiful wife, Gina, was the girl next door
(when I lived in downtown Flint, anyway), and we were married on May 11, 1996. |
| What I've done: |
I earned my BA in Communications from UofM
Flint, a two-year Legal Assistant Certificate from Oakland University,
an MS in
Administration from Central Michigan University, and a Master in
Pastoral Ministry from Loyola University. I've been working
in the automotive industry since the fall of 1993, but my true passion
is not my career -- it is my ministry. I was involved in
Youth Ministry for over 20 years, in full-time, part-time, and volunteer
positions. In the late '80s I did a one year internship at the
Jesuit Renewal Center in Milford, Ohio. We ran retreats for
Catholic high school students, and that is where I first became
acquainted with story-theater (under the tutelage of the most dynamic
Mr. Sean Reynolds, who is the Director of
the Office of Youth Ministry for the
Archdiocese of Cincinnati). |
| What I'm doing: |
My current "day-job" is in
Strategic Purchasing for Delphi Corporation. I live in El Paso,
Texas, but work every day in Juarez, Mexico. My "part-time job", however, is
an
apostolate known as ParishWebmaster.com! Since April of 2001, we have been
publishing new weekly content for parish and youth ministry Web sites,
and we plan on doing it for many years to come. (If you're
interested in having fresh Catholic content on your parish website
every week, check out the Effortless
eMinistry Tour.) |
| Other stuff: |
As cliché as it may sound, my
family means the world to me. But sometimes I get wrapped up in
the various projects I am working on and I forget that fact.
Luckily, they are supportive, understanding, and (usually) very
forgiving. In addition to my family, I also love... to
read! In fact, I love books. I collect books... more books
than I'll be able to read before I retire!
On the other hand, does anyone ever truly "retire"
from ministry? I guess I hope that I don't. I want to be
able to reach out to people until the day I die. And through my
writing, perhaps even
after that! :-)
