On A Personal
Note...
"Romantic Ponderings"by

Last weekend my wife and I celebrated our sixth
wedding anniversary. We spent the evening in almost the same way that we spent it six
years ago -- with family and friends.
Some folks I work with thought that it was odd to
do that, rather than spending a quiet, romantic evening alone. But listening to them talk,
I got the impression that their anniversary is one of a couple times in a year that they
do *anything* romantic. If that is the case, I can definitely see why they wouldn't want
to spend the evening with a group.
Even with our hectic schedules, my wife and I do
our best to make time for each other. It's hard to get time alone when you have two kids
under the age of five, but we try. In the grand scheme of things, though, the big
"events" are not what matter most.
What really makes the difference are all the
little things -- holding hands, sharing a kiss when we come or go, saying "I love
you". There are thousands of small actions that show, on a daily basis, how much we
love and care for each other.
In a very real way, our relationship with God
should be the same way. There are certain big "events" that show how much we
love God, and how much He loves us. But it is a love affair that needs to go beyond those
major days.
There are thousands of small actions that we can
take to show, on a daily basis, how much we love and care for our Lord. And if we would
open our eyes to the blessings that have been heaped upon us, we would realize that God is
showing us -- every minute of every day -- that He is absolutely, madly in love with us.
Let's not forget to show our love in return.
Peace,
~Brandon
